The Lingotek Filesystem Connector makes requesting and managing translation easier than ever. Our powerful command line utility makes it possible to quickly add content, request translations, and view completed translations right from your desktop. Once you’ve created your project in the Lingotek Translation Management System (TMS), you can easily manage your translations right from your desktop by simply dragging and dropping any file you need translated. When the translations are complete, they will automatically be sent to your desktop folder.
The Lingotek Filesystem Connector replaces the old, time-consuming, offline translation process and replaces it with cloud-based networked translation that is faster and more secure. Finally. Networked Translation.
From the Lingotek TMS, you can see which files have been automatically downloaded into the TMS. The files you’ve selected will be shown and the target languages are conveniently displayed on the screen. This makes it easy to monitor your translation status and to manage and synchronize projects. The TMS also allows you to manage workflows, monitor projects, choose filter configurations, and more.
Additionally, you can manage workflows, monitor projects, choose filter configurations, and more.
The Lingotek Filesystem Connector can handle almost any desktop file, as long as it is saved in a file folder. The connector provides seamless translation with all of the top file types used for desktop publishing, web content, software localization, and more.
If desired, users can download translations using the original file structure. Then completed translations are downloaded to the appropriate location within the file structure. The Filesystem Connector rebuilds a copy of the original file structure for each target language, so no reformatting is required.
When translation is complete, they will automatically be downloaded to your Completed Translations folder. If you need to make a change or update the information in the original translation, open the file, make your edit, save and close. This change will automatically be sent for translation so your information is always current and up to date.
Developers can use the Filesystem Connector to localize their code. The auto-commit feature allows translations to be committed to code as soon as they are approved. This simplifies the release process and automates the publishing for translated on-screen text.
