December 2010


New Features

  • Back-end Infrastructure Improvements
    • Cassandra (document store) moved to a cluster. added pre-search and caching.

  • Continued Dashboard Performance Enhancements
    • Continued query optimization for streamlining data requests
    • Faster calculation of percentage complete to remove update lag.
  • Continued Workbench Improvements
    • Combined Edit window/Alternate Translations window
        Previously in the new workbench there were separate windows within the Edit Box for Alternate Translations and the Edit Window in review phase. These have been combined to prefill previous translations into the Edit Window to remove the step of copying text into the window before it can be approved.
    • Larger Edit window
        Reducing the number of rows in the Edit Box has allowed us to increase the side of the Edit Window.
    • Better Jobs and Projects listing on home page
        Jobs and Project lists are now sorted by due-date in reverse order. Total number of Jobs and Projects are displayed with a more intuitive link to the full list of information for both.
    • Email Notification Improvements
      • Direct links to projects/documents from the email
      • More detail in the email body
      • Batch sending of notifications to avoid overloading on bulk assignment

    Bugfixes

    • Emails now sending properly
        Fixed an issue preventing some password change, signup invitation, demo account signup and notification emails from being sent. All emails will now go out properly.
    • Fixed handling of long filenames and project names in table displays
    • Improved handling of formatting tags
    • Fixed a bug in generating concurrent user graphs for community admins
    • Fixed a bug with the list of jobs displayed for the Teams category
    • Fixed and issue with calculating percentage complete that sometimes allowed the number to pass 100%

      • Navigation across highlighted segments
          When un-translated or un-reviewed is selected from the View menu, those segments will be highlighted and the next/previous navigation will move between them. To revert back simply remove highlighting.
      • Better layout of Workbench Edit Box
          The new layout puts all navigation and buttons at the left side of the edit box, keeping the mouse in the middle of the screen for convenience.
      • The Glossaries & Terminology box no longer displays automatically
          To show the terminology window click on a highlighted term in the source.
      • Add Note directly in Notes/Comments section
          This feature has been moved from the notes icon at the top right of the edit box to the notes section at the bottom.
    • Continued Dashboard Improvements

      • Project reports are combined on one Reports tab

    • Improvements to Flagging
        Now more information is displayed about who flagged what when, and a flag can now be cleared.

    • Corrected issue where changing some profile settings weren't saved

    • Community Moderator
      • A user assigned to a community phase acts as a moderator, whose votes and translations are automatically accepted.
    • Phase Ready Options
      • You can now set a phase so that it won't become available until the previous phase is complete.
    • Project Sharing Options
      • You can now choose whether or not to share your list of assigned translators when you share a project.
    • Flagged Translator Report
      • Community Admins can now see a report of the translations that have been flagged.
    • Cassandra Migration
      • We have moved our document storage system to Cassandra, for increased stability and scalability
    • Improve Third-party authentication
      • We worked with some of our partners to make authentication easier and more secure
    • Pause/Hide a phase
      • Project managers can hide a phase if they want translators to be unable to work on it.

    Bugfixes

    • Improved highlighting for CJK languages on community phases.
    • Fixed invitation email so that it sends the correct email, and saves the email that you created.
    • Allowed for community phases to be set to 0 votes.
    • Fixed project report stats when some segments were hidden.
    • Fixed a few display bugs.

    • We made some major improvements to the Community Review Interface.
      • Voting now saves both positive and negative votes.
      • You can now edit your own translation. If you change a translation that has votes, it will reset the votes.
      • The differences between the first translation and the other translations are highlighted, to make it easy to quickly see what has changed.
    • Added support for Comma-Separated Value (.csv) files.
    • Began work on a Drupal module.
