Hits tab

This tab displays Machine Translation, Terminology, and Translation Memory hits for the current segment.

Machine Translation

This feature will appear at the top of the Resources default Hits tab for supported language pairs. The current segment is automatically translated in this box. Clicking the Use button will automatically copy this translation into the Target pane.

Terminology

If there are any matches from your terminology dictionaries, then they will appear below the machine translation. Clicking a translation will paste it into the target pane.

Translation Memories

Translation memories that are similar to the current segment will appear next. Click the number to the left of a TM to move it to the target pane or drag and drop portions of a translation memory into the target pane.

Below the TM hit is the name of the TM Vault that the translation memory came from, and a rating for that TM.

Formatting tab

This tab allows the final reviewer to apply formatting to a segment. When a document is imported into Lingotek, the formatting is removed, and replaced with placeholders. Once the document is translated, the final reviewer can apply the removed formatting, so that the translated document will mirror the original document.

Gadgets tab

This tab allows users to add OpenSocial gadgets to LingoDex for increased collaboration and productivity. Currently there are two gadgets that are supported, which include IMO.im and Twitter. These gadgets can also be individually hidden by clicking the toggle link.

Community Translation

Documents that appear in the "Community Documents" box are documents that are not assigned to one specific translator, but can be worked on by anyone in the community. These documents can be one of two types - Self-Assigned or Community.

Self-Assigned Documents

Anyone in the community can begin translating or reviewing a self-assigned document. Once a translator clicks Translate/Review, that phase is assigned to them and is removed from the Community Documents list. If the translator doesn't do any work on the document for 2 days, then it is moved back to Community Documents. Self-assigned jobs use the traditional LingoDex translation interface for review instead of the new Community Review interface.

Community Documents

Documents with the "Community" phase type can be translated and reviewed by multiple translators at once.

Concurrent Translation

When you select a community document to work on and that document is in the translation phase, 5 segments at a time will be "locked" for you to work on in tandem with anyone else from the community working on the document.

Community Review

If a community document is in the review phase, then selecting to work on this document will open the review screen. In this interface, you can vote for the best existing translation or add your own.

Clicking the source text for a segment will bring up MT and TM results for that segment.

Clicking "New Translation" will let you input a new translation for that segment. If you have entered a translation for a segment, you will not be able to vote on that segment.

Segments that have been voted on or flagged are collapsed in order to focus on segments that still need to be reviewed.
