LingoDex Source Pane

The Source Pane is where the current segment that you are translating is displayed, along with additional sentences to give context. It has a toolbar with buttons to navigate through your document, as well as some other helpful features.

Previous

The Previous button moves the translation tool's focus to the previous segment in the document. You can also move to the previous segment by clicking it or pressing Alt+up arrow, Alt+<, or Ctrl+Shift+p.

Next

The Next button moves source pane's focus to the next segment in the document. You can also go to the next segment by clicking it, or by pressing Alt+down arrow, Alt+>, or Ctrl+Shift+n.

The Next button also has a dropdown menu which allows you to choose from three different ways to navigate the document:

  • Next Segment
    • This is the default setting. The next button will bring you to the next available segment in the document.
  • Next Untranslated/Unreviewed Segment
    • If you select this option, you will be brought to the next segment that needs to be translated if you are in the first phase, or the next segment that needs to be reviewed if you are in a review phase.
  • Next Exact Match
    • This option is allows translators or reviewers to review the results that were auto-pasted from TM Vaults.

Go To Top

This button will bring you to the top of the document.

Go To

The Go To button prompts the user to enter a segment number. When you enter the segment number LingoDex will jump to that segment.

Bookmark

The Bookmark feature allows you to bookmark segments that you want to come back to later, to review or translate. When the segment that you want to bookmark is highlighted, click the blue flag icon. To go to the next bookmark that you have placed, click the Go To Bookmark icon. To remove all of the bookmarks from a document, click the red Remove Bookmarks icon.


Selected Search

Selected Search allows you to narrow your search results. Simply highlight a portion of the source segment and click the Selected Search button. The hits pane will then return only TMs that have all of the highlighted words, in the same order.

Add selection to Dictionary

Highlight a word or phrase that you would like to add to the dictionary, and press the "Add to Dictionary" icon. The dictionary tab will open, and a new entry will be prefilled with the selected phrase.Choose the dictionary that you want to save to, and then click save, and your entry will become part of that dictionary.
