Community Translation & Review

Documents that appear in the "Community Documents" box are documents that are not assigned to one specific translator, but can be worked on by anyone in the community. These documents can be one of two types - Self-Assigned or Community.

Self-Assigned Documents

Once a translator clicks Translate/Review on a Self-Assigned Document, that phase is assigned to them and is removed from the Community Documents list. If the translator doesn't do any work on the document for the alloted amount of time, then it is moved back to Community Documents. The alloted time is set by the community admin - the default is 2 days. Self-assigned jobs use the traditional LingoDex translation interface for review instead of the community documents interface.

Community Documents

Documents with the "Community" phase type can be translated and reviewed by multiple translators at once. When working on a community document, you have several options for each segment. You can add your own translation by typing it in the input box and click the blue "+" icon. You can also vote for or against an existing translation. The numbers under the voting icons indicate how many votes the translation has. Hovering the mouse over a submitted translation gives you additional options. If a translation is offensive then you can flag it for review by clicking on the red flag icon. Clicking the pencil icon will let you edit the translation. If the original translation was submitted by you, then it will be replaced when you submit your new translation. If the original was by someone else, then your translation will be added as a new translation.
