Job Description:

The Cloud Database Engineering (CDE) team at Lingotek is responsible for data modeling, stability and other operational aspects for the databases we host in the cloud.

The CDE team plays a critical role in providing both architectural direction and ongoing operational support on cloud persistence databases for our engineering efforts.

Role:

Senior Software Engineer who can work with the team to improve the overall performance, stability and effectiveness of cloud database systems. Candidate should have a strong background and interest in developing and tuning Cassandra for deployment in AWS cloud-based Cassandra clusters.

Requirements:

• Strong object-oriented programming experience with Java
• Experience developing high performance Java applications — in effect, big data, low latency, and high throughput
• Experience with Cassandra Internals
• Excellent communication skills

Additionally Desirable:
 

• Scripting language experience
• Experience with Amazon AWS development
• Exposure to PostgreSQL and RDBMS knowledge
