It’s as Easy as One, Two, Three

Lingotek brings together three powerful modules making translation quick, easy, and most importantly affordable. We have designed each module to work seamlessly together so that you can manage your projects efficiently, have an easy to use interface for your team, and have the ability to create a language library for future use. This is LingoPoint, LingoDex and LingoAlign.

LingoPoint: Management Module

Translation Management Made Easy
This Web-based translation interface and project management platform is designed to make the translation process as streamlined as possible. LingoPoint is loaded with advanced features that will leave translators and their managers saying: “It shouldn’t be this easy.”

With LingoPoint corporate and government managers upload new projects, assign translators, check the status of current projects, and download completed documents. Since many of the LingoPoint functions are also available through Web Services, it can align with content management systems, authoring systems and any other system you have in place.

LingoDex: Translation Module

Where the Rubber Hits the Road
Translators open documents in LingoDex to perform the actual translation of content from one language to another. This user-friendly interface provides unprecedented innovations that set Lingotek apart.

When a document is assigned to a translator they are notified and are instantly presented with several features to help with the translation including Web-based Translation Memories (TM):

    • Translation Memory Hits—enter a phrase to see if a similar phrase
has been translated in the past. If it fits, use it and move on!
    • Integrated Machine Translation – use it as a help to get started or
don’t use it at all, you choose.
    • Dictionary—Lingotek’s dictionaries contain standard definitions
coupled with specific terminology for terms that mean the same
thing every time. Another feature that is offered is the ability for
the content owner to specify a particular dictionary and terms
       they want used.
    • Version control—translators can know instantly where their work
       stands on the review/approval continuum.
    • Find and Replace—if a word or phrase is used throughout a
document, get to it and swap it out for what you want it to be.

LingoAlign

Now that I’ve got it what can I do with it?
Lingotek takes the idea of content reuse to a new level, combining Lingotek’s Translation Memory technology, LingoAlign and the power of the Web you can search and collaborate easier and faster. Organizations can create a linguistic library without having to start from scratch. Source documents and translated documents are loaded into LingoAlign which matches up the sentences. These matches are turned into Translation Memories and housed in a central repository, which translators can then have right at their fingertips, making all future translations of similar subject matter lightening fast—without sacrificing any quality.

Unlike other TM tools available in the market, Lingotek’s Translation Memory Technology and LingoAlign allow company’s translators to be organized as a collaborative group. This allows each and every translator to see and share all TMs. By migrating all TMs to the Lingotek central repository, rather than being stored on individual computers randomly across a corporate network, the creative translation process is not hindered.

In addition, the company and all translators are able to share TMs through a well managed translation protocol. By creating shared libraries of TMs, a company is not limited to only those files an individual translator may think are important or critical for particular translation projects. All TMs can be accessed, merged, migrated and reviewed, based on a company’s process control variables.

Translation Memory definition: Translations Memories (TMs) are simply a record of how a translator has translated something in the past Lingotek has developed an exclusive software package that searches your data repository for TMs to give suggestions for the current document. For example, if you translated "The sky is blue" as "Le ciel est bleu" in one document, then the next time you translate a document that has a sentence like "The sky is blue", "The sky is green", etc. the TM tool will remind you how you previously translated the similar phrase, allowing you to reuse part of that previous translation which speeds the process along at an unprecedented rate and delivers greater results than ever before.

1) Translation Memories (TM) are created when identical phases/ideas from two languages are paired up (ex. English and German).
 2) These TMs are then grouped together and stored in the Lingotek TM Vault for future retrieval.
3) When another document is being translated from language X to language Y, LingoDex searches the Vaults for matching TMs. The best translations are displayed and recommended.
